EV charging for underground car parks in the Canton of Zug

What applies to your car park in the Canton of Zug

Subsidy in the Canton of Zug

The cantonal energy subsidy programme 2026 supports the building envelope, replacing your heating system and other measures. It contains no contributions for EV chargers. Individual communes or energy suppliers may make offers of their own. We check for your commune whether one exists, and we name no amounts that we cannot document.

Several properties under one property management

Property managers often look after several buildings, each with its own underground car park. A consistent concept suits this: basic installation, load management and metering per charge point. We record the properties during the site visit and plan them all to the same pattern. This simplifies billing, maintenance and later extensions.

Decision and house connection

In condominium ownership (STWEG), the owners decide according to the Civil Code and their regulations, and in rented properties the landlord agrees. Load management shares the available power between all spaces, so the house connection often does not need to be upgraded. We check this against the building’s load data. More spaces can be added later.

During the site visit we check the main distribution board, the meter positions and the cable routes of the car park, and we record how much power is available for charging. Metering each charge point allows billing per user. Planning, installation with our own installers and commissioning are all done from one source.

WWZ and Steinhausen

WWZ Energie AG supplies ten of the eleven communes, and the Wasser- und Elektrizitätswerk Steinhausen one. The cantonal median is 21.9 ct./kWh, which is 5.8 centimes below the Swiss median of 27.7 ct./kWh, and in Steinhausen it is 22.2 ct./kWh. For an existing parking space, a building notification (Bauanzeige) to the commune is usually enough, and if there is no response after 14 days, the EV charger counts as approved. Our electrical installer handles the registration with the grid operator.

Grid operators

What power from the grid costs is set by your grid operator. It sets what a trip by electric car costs when you charge at home. With power from your own roof you charge for less.Swiss median: 27.7 ct./kWh.

Frequently asked questions

Before you get in touch.

Your question is not listed?

044 980 08 80info@solarinnovation.ch
Is the site visit really free?

Yes. The visit and the quote cost you nothing and commit you to nothing. You only decide once you hold the binding quote in your hands.

Is there a subsidy in the Canton of Zug for EV chargers in an underground car park?

The cantonal energy subsidy programme 2026 contains no contributions for EV chargers. We check offers from communes and energy suppliers.

How do I plan several underground car parks of one property management in the Canton of Zug?

With one consistent concept for all buildings: basic installation, load management and metering per charge point. We record the properties during the site visit.

Does the house connection in Zug have to be reinforced for several electric cars?

Often not. Load management shares the power so that the connection is enough. We check this against the building's load data.

Must property management allow every tenant an EV charger?

There is no clear legal entitlement. In practice, many property managers agree if the tenant bears the cost and the solution suits the building. A shared solution for all parking spaces is usually cheaper than many individual installations.

Who decides on EV chargers in condominium ownership?

That depends on the regulations and the scope. Work on shared parts such as the supply line and distribution board usually needs a resolution of the owners' meeting. We provide the documents for the vote.

Is the house connection enough for several electric cars?

Often yes, if load management shares out the power. Then not all cars charge at full power at the same time. We calculate whether the connection is enough using the load data of your building.

Which regions do you cover?

All of German-speaking Switzerland. We build most often in the cantons of Zurich, St. Gallen, Schwyz and Aargau. Our locations are in Zumikon ZH and Lachen SZ.
