Subsidy for the installation in the Canton of Thurgau
The energy subsidy programme 2026 supports the installation of charging infrastructure for passenger cars in apartment buildings and in office and industrial buildings with 15% of the investment cost. The subsidy is between CHF 1,000 and 30,000 per project. It covers the permanently connected electrical infrastructure, but not the EV chargers themselves. The building must have been approved before 2019, and the EV chargers may have at most 22 kW.
Application before implementation begins
The application must arrive before work begins. We fill in the form with you and submit it. Because the canton subsidises the installation, we plan it first: supply cable, distribution and load management that shares the power between the vehicles. For this, we record all parking spaces in the underground car park.
Owners and tenants
In condominium ownership (STWEG), the owners decide according to the Civil Code and their regulations, and in rented properties the landlord agrees. We give the property management a quote that shows the subsidised part and the individual wallboxes separately. This makes clear what the owners’ association bears jointly and which items individual parties take on.
The power limit of 22 kW per EV charger is one of the conditions and is built into the planning. We design the load management so that the property’s connection capacity is sufficient, and we meter each charge point separately for billing per user. Installation and commissioning are carried out by our own installers.
Many small utilities in Thurgau
In the Canton of Thurgau, many small utilities supply their communes. EW Romanshorn charges 24.9 ct./kWh, LST Energie AG 33.2 ct./kWh and Arbon Energie AG 29.3 ct./kWh. The cantonal median is 29.4 ct./kWh, and the Swiss median is 27.7 ct./kWh. The electricity price here depends heavily on the utility, so we calculate with your tariff. We also register the system with that utility before installation, under the Low-Voltage Installation Ordinance (NIV).
