Subsidy in the Canton of Solothurn

We found no cantonal subsidy for charging infrastructure in the Canton of Solothurn. Communes and energy suppliers sometimes offer subsidies of their own. Before the quote, we check whether anything exists for your location, and otherwise we calculate without a subsidy.

One cable for all, wallboxes one by one

A basic installation with load management prepares several parking spaces at once. Load management shares the power between all spaces, so the house connection is not overloaded. Wallboxes can then be added one by one as soon as a space is needed. This way, not all parties have to decide at the same time, and the shared cabling is paid for once.

Who bears the cost of the shared cabling

In condominium ownership (STWEG), the owners decide on how the costs are split according to the Civil Code and their regulations, and in rented properties the landlord decides. We show the cost per parking space so that a fair split is possible, and we list the basic installation and the wallboxes separately. Each wallbox is metered separately, and users pay for what they use.

During the site visit we check the main distribution board, the cable routes and the connection capacity available. This shows how many vehicles can charge at the same time and where a later extension would start. Planning, installation with our own installers and commissioning are handled by us, and the quote is ready within 72 hours.

Several grid operators

In the Canton of Solothurn, the communes are supplied by BKW, Primeo Netz, AVAG and Regio Energie Solothurn, among others. The cantonal median for households is 30.4 ct./kWh, which is 2.7 centimes above the Swiss median of 27.7 ct./kWh. Registration before installation depends on the utility in your commune. The grid operator may set conditions on power, which we take into account in the load management.

Frequently asked questions

Before you get in touch.

Your question is not listed?

044 980 08 80info@solarinnovation.ch
Is the site visit really free?

Yes. The visit and the quote cost you nothing and commit you to nothing. You only decide once you hold the binding quote in your hands.

Does the Canton of Solothurn pay anything towards charging infrastructure in the car park?

We found no cantonal programme. We check contributions from communes and energy suppliers, and otherwise we calculate without a subsidy.

Can wallboxes be added one by one in an underground car park in Solothurn?

Yes. After the basic installation with load management, each wallbox is added individually as soon as a space needs it.

Who pays for the shared cabling in Solothurn?

The owners decide, or the landlord does. We show the cost per parking space so that a fair split is possible.

Must property management allow every tenant an EV charger?

There is no clear legal entitlement. In practice, many property managers agree if the tenant bears the cost and the solution suits the building. A shared solution for all parking spaces is usually cheaper than many individual installations.

Who decides on EV chargers in condominium ownership?

That depends on the regulations and the scope. Work on shared parts such as the supply line and distribution board usually needs a resolution of the owners' meeting. We provide the documents for the vote.

Is the house connection enough for several electric cars?

Often yes, if load management shares out the power. Then not all cars charge at full power at the same time. We calculate whether the connection is enough using the load data of your building.

Which regions do you cover?

All of German-speaking Switzerland. We build most often in the cantons of Zurich, St. Gallen, Schwyz and Aargau. Our locations are in Zumikon ZH and Lachen SZ.
