What applies to your car park in the Canton of Lucerne

Tiered subsidy in the Canton of Lucerne

In 2026, the Canton of Lucerne subsidises basic infrastructure in existing multi-tenant buildings with at least three residential units. The amount varies with the size of the system: CHF 350 for spaces 1 to 10, CHF 200 for spaces 11 to 50 and CHF 100 from the 51st space. For a small car park, each of the first ten spaces therefore counts for a lot. New buildings are not eligible, and for them we plan the basic installation directly into the construction.

Application after construction starts, through the buildings programme

In Lucerne, you submit the application after construction starts, through the portal of the buildings programme (Gebäudeprogramm). We explain the procedure to you before we start the installation, and we put together the documents needed. On request, we pre-finance the subsidies, so the property management does not have to wait for the payout.

Condominium ownership and rented properties

In condominium ownership (STWEG), the owners decide according to the Civil Code and their regulations. In rented properties, the landlord agrees. Load management shares the power between all charge points, and more wallboxes can be added later. Each space is metered separately, so that billing per user is clean.

Even for larger car parks with more than ten spaces, the tiering is worth a look. The first ten spaces get the highest rate, after which the subsidy per space falls. We calculate the subsidy for your system and show it in the quote separately from the costs.

CKW and other utilities

CKW supplies 70 of the 79 communes in Lucerne. The cantonal median for households is 25.4 ct./kWh, which is 2.3 centimes below the Swiss median of 27.7 ct./kWh. Before installation, our electrical installer registers the system with the grid operator using the technical connection application (technisches Anschlussgesuch) and the installation notice (Installationsanzeige). The grid operator may set conditions on connection capacity and load management.

Frequently asked questions

Before you get in touch.

Your question is not listed?

044 980 08 80info@solarinnovation.ch
Is the site visit really free?

Yes. The visit and the quote cost you nothing and commit you to nothing. You only decide once you hold the binding quote in your hands.

How much does the Canton of Lucerne pay towards charging infrastructure in the car park?

CHF 350 for spaces 1 to 10, CHF 200 for spaces 11 to 50 and CHF 100 from space 51, for existing buildings with at least three residential units.

When do I submit the application in the Canton of Lucerne?

After construction starts, through the portal of the buildings programme (Gebäudeprogramm). We explain the procedure to you before we start the installation.

Do new buildings in Lucerne get a subsidy for the car park?

No, new buildings are not eligible. For them, we plan the basic installation (backbone wiring) directly into the construction.

Must property management allow every tenant an EV charger?

There is no clear legal entitlement. In practice, many property managers agree if the tenant bears the cost and the solution suits the building. A shared solution for all parking spaces is usually cheaper than many individual installations.

Who decides on EV chargers in condominium ownership?

That depends on the regulations and the scope. Work on shared parts such as the supply line and distribution board usually needs a resolution of the owners' meeting. We provide the documents for the vote.

Is the house connection enough for several electric cars?

Often yes, if load management shares out the power. Then not all cars charge at full power at the same time. We calculate whether the connection is enough using the load data of your building.

Which regions do you cover?

All of German-speaking Switzerland. We build most often in the cantons of Zurich, St. Gallen, Schwyz and Aargau. Our locations are in Zumikon ZH and Lachen SZ.
